I keep all the original GIMP formatted source files on the server, as an off-site backup.  At the moment, they are not available for download on the web.  However, it would be trivial for me to make them available, if anyone was interested in them.

The files are in .xcf format, and run generally about 4 times larger than the web viewable image.  I haven't tested out how compressing them (say, bzip2) would work.  Even if I do make them available, I might withdraw them if they suck up too much of my bandwidth.

Have you thought about publishing .JPGs instead of .PNG files?  JPGs are lossy enough that they do reduce down enough, and with enough quality (above 75%) you really can't easily tell the difference.  Some of your PNG files even have a transparency layer that's totally not needed! Smiley

I've always been partial to PNG.  It's free of all those patent claims that the other formats have (even if the one for JPeg has "prior art" written all over it, and the GIF one has expired).  It's also just one of those carry-overs from my younger days.
